Audi's Grandsphere concept EV is a self-driving living room on wheels

If the Skysphere Audi concept is the driver of the driver with autonomous choice, the company’s follow-up is across the pole. Car makers have introduced a GrandSphere concept electrical sedan that uses a level 4 self-driving (full autonomy in limited conditions) to help you avoid driving “if possible” – this is a luxury living room that happens to make you take the wheel.

Requesting mode without driver and grandsphere will ‘reduce’ wheels and pedals to explain it, you should relax. Display is truly projected on adaptable wood surface based on whether you are driving – you can watch the media or participate in video conferencing. While the Audi MMI control which is familiarly available in an upright seating position, you can use eye tracking and movement to navigate the infotainment system when you lie down. VR glasses on the armrest help you immerse yourself in entertainment during your trip.

Audi promises extensive personalization that will repair the interior when you step, starting from the basics such as climate control to the media service that was the last time you use. The car will even display the news you read on your mobile, according to the company.

The design itself is a large “2 + 2” seat with a profile like a tube but wheelbase is longer than the version of the stretched A8. Like EQS Mercedes, you will not be injured for reach – Audi claims 466 miles drive with a 120KWH battery. The 800 volt charging architecture can give you 186 miles drive in ten minutes, and bring grandsphere from a cost of five percent to 80 percent in 25 minutes. This is not the fastest vehicle with a 0-62mm “only more than” four seconds, but you clearly won’t buy this to win the drag race.

Not that you might buy this car from the start. Like Skysphere and the upcoming Urbansphere concept, this is more to describe the audi’s vision about the future of autonomous eVs. At least some technologies (such as news display) are more than what the Audi built to be built rather than something you can expect in the near future. It won’t be surprising if some features or sign cues enter the production car, and there is little doubt that many car brands must rethink their design when driving manually to more than rules rather than rules.
