Despite bent from the mobile market, Nvidia managed to truly be an example in the Android community, at least when it comes to software support. Years after being launched in the TV Shield box, Nvidia continues to encourage updates both large and small outside what most OEMs will do in the past. Unfortunately, good things end, and the giant graphics technology has just confirmed that TV Shield will not get Android 10, but that doesn’t mean it won’t get updates.
The Android TV device was first launched back in 2015, and unless you have kept the tab on the Android TV market, you would expect this to be left behind now. However, in 2019, even the boxes were updated to the latest Android Android TV and continued to receive a feature update even today. However, with Android 12 just around the corner, the owner has started asking about updates Android 10 for their loyal devices.
The official answer, unfortunately, is not. To be more appropriate, Nvidia said that it was a “no-op” for the company, which meant they decided to miss it. They decided that Android 10 for Android TV did not bring a big change that would benefit the user but still needed a lot of work to be released.
Not that Nvidia was done with TV Shield, mainly because the update of the last shield experience was released last May. The same Nvidia staff member suggests that there are still many developments that occur for the platform, which can be a little surprising for the line of devices that the latest model is launched back in 2019. Then again, with Nvidia pushing its geForce now streaming service, it is also unexpected.
Maybe there is also a small possibility that NVIDIA will only jump to Android 11, which might accumulate more substantial changes on the platform compared to Android 10. However, however, it can be wishful thinking, but TV Shield owners may not be lost a lot from TV release The latest Android, especially because Nvidia provides its own experience above.
