Google delays mandatory return to office until January 2022

Google once again pushed back to work directly. CEO Sundar Pichai told employees that the company delayed mandatory returns to the office until January 2022. The voluntary scheme will now last until January 10. Since then, the Google office will make decisions about when (and if) make office work compulsory. The staff will be notified 30 days before if they have to appear.

Pioneer internet previously hoped to institutionalize the Hybrid week on October 18, with staff coming for three out of five days. That, in turn, slower than the return of September which was originally planned.

The reason behind the delay was not surprising. The recovery of the Covid-19 pandemic, and thus back tothe office, has been “longer and proud of expected,” according to Pichai. In other words, factors such as Delta Virus variants, vaccination rates, and varied case levels have been cloudy in situations – what works well in one country can be dangerous in others.

Instead Google will take any chances. The company now needs full vaccination for every employee who returns to the office, voluntarily or vice versa. Google may want to have people fill the hall, but also do not want a nervous security or employee problem. Not alone, well – fellow technology companies like Apple have postponed plans to return to their own office because the reality of pandemics becomes clearer.
